About Marlin

Marlin is a passionate advocate for his community and works to ensure all Alberta families have access to the essential services they rely on.

During his time as Minister of Advanced Education, Marlin made life more affordable for students across Alberta. He modernized Alberta’s post-secondary system and froze tuition to make career training more accessible to more Albertans.

Marlin currently sits as the NDP Official Opposition Resource Stewardship Committee Deputy Chair.

Marlin’s professional background is as a geologist. He worked tirelessly to protect Alberta’s Rocky Mountains and watersheds from the UCP’s coal mining plans.

For Alberta, For Canada Day of Action

Join volunteers from across the province for our Day of Action on Tuesday, June 30! We'll be coordinating local groups of volunteers who will reach out to other Albertans about For Alberta, For Canada and mobilizing the pro-Canada vote ahead of a referendum. What to expect? A couple of hours of walking in Edmonton-Gold Bar, chatting with residents about the Referendum! (Gold Bar is incredibly supportive of Canada, so this is some of the easiest door knocking you will ever do!) No experience is needed — we will ensure you have all the information and tools you need.
