AB NDP launches education funding campaign
September 07, 2011
Alberta’s NDP Opposition leader Brian Mason has launched a campaign to learn about the impact of PC education cuts on Alberta’s families.
“Alberta’s NDP Opposition is working to make education a top priority in this province again,” says Mason. “The PCs are out of touch with the needs of Alberta’s families. We want to show Albertans why $100 million of education cuts this year hurt families around the province.”
The caucus will reach out to Albertans directly by distributing a number of post cards to parents that they can send back with their stories.
Albertans can also share their stories of bigger class sizes and fewer resources on Facebook, through e-mail and traditional mail. Albertans will also be able to download, print and distribute post cards in their communities.
“Together we need to show the PCs that they have their priorities wrong, that we want the best education for our kids. It’s important for the future of our province in so many ways. Smaller class sizes and more resources to address specialized needs define good education,” Mason says.
