NDP launch hotline for names of queue jumping MLAs
June 07, 2011
Alberta's NDP Opposition leader Brian Mason says anyone with knowledge of which MLAs were involved in health care queue jumping should come forward in the interest of justice.
They can leave anonymous tips by calling 780-644-8670, a new hotline launched today by Alberta’s NDP Opposition to get to the bottom of queue jumping accusations.
“I’m going to keep digging into this until we find out the truth of whether any MLAs took advantage of their power by seeking preferred access to health services. This hotline is one way Albertans can help us get to the truth,” Mason says. “The 2009 AHS memo on queue jumping is evidence that ‘prominent’ individuals may have received preferential treatment. Albertans deserve the truth.”
Anyone coming forward will have full anonymity.
“The only names we’re out to name are those MLAs or health administrators involved with jumping the queue,” Mason says.
