Statement from Brian Mason following Slave Lake fi

“It’s with sorrow and shock that I’ve watched alongside many around Alberta, Canada and the World, the images of Slave Lake’s destruction. Thousands of Slave Lakers have lost the homes, possessions and memories of a lifetime.

I salute the brave emergency workers who’ve amazingly managed to evacuate the whole town amidst a raging fire without any reported injuries or losses of life.

I know the generosity of Albertans will meet this challenge. We at the NDP Caucus will work vigorously to assure Slave Lakers are supported by government as they rebuild their lives.”
