Alberta's NDP would:
- Introduce rent controls, so rent can only increase by the cost of living plus 2%.
- Close loopholes that allow the conversion of apartments to condominiums.
- Bring in public auto insurance, saving drivers $400/year.
- Scrap electricity deregulation, which has cost consumers $16 billion in increased costs since it was introduced.
- Make it easier to join a union.
- Cut tuition costs to 1999-2000 levels, and reduce the interest charges on student loans.
- Create an agency to bulk buy prescription drugs, cutting drug costs in half.
