Sarah Elmeligi knows what makes Banff-Kananaskis worth fighting for. She built her career protecting Alberta’s wild places, working with environmental non-profits and Alberta Parks before starting her own environmental consulting company as a wildlife biologist and published author. She came to public office because she knows that protecting the land, supporting the people who live there, and building strong rural communities go hand in hand.
Elected in 2023, Sarah now serves as Shadow Minister for Environment & Protected Areas. She has fought to protect Alberta’s Eastern Slopes from coal mining, pushed for greater transparency and accountability from government, and stood up for the communities she represents. She knows rural Alberta needs more than beautiful landscapes. It needs reliable health care, strong local economies, and a government that understands the people who call these communities home.
