Trisha Estabrooks has spent her career fighting for the public institutions that hold communities together. After 17 years as a CBC journalist, reporting from newsrooms across the North before coming home to Edmonton, she moved from the newsroom to the school board, serving two terms as Chair of the Edmonton Public School Board.
Trisha believes that public services only work when the people delivering them are supported: When Danielle Smith stripped workers’ rights, she resigned her position to stand with striking educational assistants.
Today she works with Friends of Medicare, defending the public health care Albertans depend on. Estabrooks has called Edmonton home for two decades, and has watched this government hollow out the institutions she spent her career building. She's running in Edmonton-Strathcona to fight for public education, public health care, and a government that finally puts Albertans first.
