David Eggen has spent his life in service to Edmonton. His dedication to helping students succeed goes back nearly 20 years as a public educator, and previously served as the Executive Director of the Friends of Medicare. When conservative governments were putting public healthcare on the line, David was at the table pushing back.
First elected in 2004, David has returned to the Legislature each term with a renewed passion on behalf of his constituents. He has the distinction of the longest-serving member currently elected to the Legislative Assembly.
He served as Minister of Education under Premier Notley, championing Gay-Straight Alliances to ensure every student feels safe and welcome, and overseeing the building and modernization of 244 schools across the province. Today, as Shadow Minister for Advanced Education, he keeps fighting for the students and families who depend on a strong, accessible post-secondary system.
David knows what it takes to build something worth keeping.
David Eggen is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.
