Janis Irwin has represented Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood since 2019, and she has spent every year since fighting for Albertans.
Born and raised in Barrhead, she started her career as a high school teacher and vice-principal in rural Alberta before moving to Edmonton, where she was promoted to Executive Director for High School Curriculum at Alberta Education. She holds a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Alberta and a master's from the University of Calgary.
Now in her second term as Shadow Minister for Housing, Janis is on the frontlines of one of the most urgent crises facing Albertans. She has been voted Best Alberta MLA six years running because she shows up. For her community, for her neighbours, for the people this government keeps leaving behind.
