Every parent knows that smaller class sizes are better for kids.

Rachel Notley is committed to reducing class sizes and providing more support for students by hiring 4,000 new teachers and 3,000 educational assistants and support staff.

Our plan means more one-on-one attention for students. And it means every child will get the support they need to succeed.

This investment in public education will address the staffing crisis left by the UCP who laid off 20,000 support staff including substitute teachers, school bus drivers, and educational assistants in a tweet.

Since 2019, enrollment in Alberta schools has grown by 36,000 new students but student-teacher ratios have not kept up and the UCP have refused to increase funding to match enrollment.

Right now Alberta has lowest per-student funding of any province in Canada and our schools are short 2,000 teachers and 1,500 support staff.

We'll change that.
