Calgary is young, diverse, entrepreneurial, and innovative and is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in the world.

The downtown has a sense of energy that draws people in and has long been a fundamental part of Alberta’s economy.

But Calgary has been hard-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn without any direct support from the UCP. Despite promising their corporate tax cut would fill the office towers, Calgarians are experiencing the second-highest unemployment rate and the second-highest downtown office vacancy in the country.

At the same time, the UCP has continued attacking public healthcare, threatening to sell our hospitals, and ignoring overcrowded classrooms, all while cutting funding for municipalities.

Calgarians are struggling to find an affordable home or a family doctor. Emergency wait times continue to climb, and important projects like the Green Line have been delayed.

It’s time for a better approach.

This is our plan to build a better future for Calgary.

With $1.2 billion in investments, the Alberta NDP will create thousands of jobs over the next three years.

We will:

• Begin work on the North Leg of the Green Line LRT
• Begin work on the North Calgary / Airdrie Regional Health Centre
• Build 40 desperately needed schools
• Build more affordable housing
• Establish the Alberta Cancer Innovation Hub at the Calgary Cancer Centre
• Establish a downtown campus as part of the long-term plans for Calgary’s future Innovation District
