Calgary’s Chinatown is one of the oldest and largest in Canada and is full of rich cultural and historical significance.

We must support preserving the Chinese-Canadian community's meaningful contributions to the cultural fabric of our city. We envision a Chinatown that is a hub of cultural exchange and a flourishing and vibrant part of Calgary.

Rachel Notley and the Alberta NDP are committed to improving Calgary’s Chinatown as part of our commitment to building a better future in Calgary.

We will provide $1.5 million in earmarked funding to revitalize Calgary’s iconic Chinatown.

This funding will support improvements to the Chinese Cultural Centre, Sien Lok Park, and other Chinese cultural hubs in the community, as well as upgrades to the public realm surrounding many of Chinatown’s businesses and social spaces.

By investing in the district's redevelopment, we're driving local tourism and promoting economic prosperity. We're creating a future where Chinatown's unique cultural heritage thrives alongside a bustling local economy.
