Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) play a vital role in helping Albertans improve their quality of life and deal with crisis situations in the community. These community-led programs help individuals adopt healthy lifestyles and invest in organizations that support people in times of crisis to build safe communities where families want to live and grow.
Adequately funded social service organizations are essential to building a compassionate, diverse, and successful society.
Just as Danielle Smith and her UCP government have failed to adequately support Albertans during an unprecedented affordability crisis, the UCP have starved non-profit organizations of the funding they desperately need to support those seeking their help.
The Alberta NDP are focused on building stronger, safer communities, together.
Investing in organizations that support individuals to become more self-sufficient, help strengthen family relationships and work to meet the basic needs of community members, such as food, shelter, health care, and education is the right thing to do.
People need local support and we know that FCSS has been a very successful tool for decades. If there was ever a time it needed a boost, it’s right now.
